bedeutet auch "Hund": "Glocke mit Klöppel, aus Metallblech: sie
erzeugt einen leicht scheppernden, rasselnden Klang; instrumento
de fundamento, wird über dem assentamento
von Oxalá aufbewahrt." (Lühning 290); "Hwegbadja
was the first king of the Aladahonu
dynasty. Tradition tells that the family came first from Adja, in the west, to
Alada [Allada], in the
south, not far
from the sea-coast, and made its way northward to the plateau of Abomey
" (Herskovits II 88).
